What really happened last Saturday

Okay, yeah, the session last Saturday with Dr. Peebles was definitely different. And, for some people, a little weird. I think one person said it was like a three ring circus.

But, I knew it going in, and knew that my job is to surrender, and not block the magic.

So, you might be wondering what happened.

Well…a lot happened.

Nuff said?

(Okay, okay…I'll tell you.)

First of all, the event was called "This School Called Planet Earth." So, it was about planet earth being a school where we are all learning and growing, and the curriculum is all about love. Dr. Peebles did his usual teaching, interspersed with a bit of humor here and there. And then things went wild.

Sometimes, right before I do a public event, I'll ask Dr. Peebles if he can give me any hint about what is going to happen that day. Most times, I get very little from him, or next to nothing. That's just to make sure that I don't have expectations around the channeling. In other words, so I can just "let 'er rip!" without blocking anything.

This time was no exception, until I was blow drying my hair on the morning of the session and heard, "I was King Herod."

"Uh. Say what?"

"I was King Herod. Look it up."

I had this feeling of dread. After eighteen years, I know Dr. Peebles very well. I had the feeling something was going to be different about this session, and now I knew (somewhat) why.

So, I went to my computer, typed in H-A-R-R-O-D, and saw all kinds of websites for Harrod's department stores pop up on the screen. (Obviously, I'm not up on my Biblical characters, and definitely not up on the spelling of their names.)

I tried another spelling. H-E-R-O-D came to mind, so I typed it in into the "search" box. And, there he was! Dr. Peebles! Er…actually, it was a wood cut print of King Herod, but if I didn't know better, I'd say there was a definite family resemblance with Dr. Peebles.

I got goosebumps from head to toe. "Oh my. You WERE King Herod."

I knew then that he was going to spill these beans to the group on Saturday.

And, so he did. But, why?

I have had one inquiry from a brave and vulnerable woman who respectfully shared with me in an email that she was confused about the session on Saturday, and said because of that, she was not sure if she would return to see another one. Nevertheless, she asked if I might have something to share about it. (That's what I love about people. I love people who are inquisitive and always willing to see or strive to understand the other perspectives.)

And, so I wrote back to her, and afterwards realized she had given me the gift of prompting me to write to all of you.

First of all, trance channeling by its very nature, is kind of weird. (Imagine my children having to answer this question throughout their lives: "So, what does your mommy do for a living, dear?")

Over the course of my channeling career I have channeled hundreds of spirits from every realm. I've channeled dearly departed loved ones. I've channeled a man who died on death row. I've channeled JFK, Hitler, Jesus, Judas, Archangel Michael, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, John Belushi, and more. I've channeled my laser printer (which told me how to fix it). I've channeled a willow tree that was dying (it told my mom how to save its life). I channeled a dove that had hit a window at my parents' house (my mom had it in a cage) and while I channeled it, the dove suddenly said "I have to go now," and as it left my body, the dove itself simultaneously died in front of us.

I've channeled poltergeists (so that the people in the haunted house could talk to them and ask them to leave), and I've channeled past lives, and even the childhoods of some friends (so that they could remember what happened to them, and why).

The kind of channeling that I do, and teach, is a "no arm's length" type of channeling. I learned early on that all spirits need a voice, not just the ones we consider to be made of "light and love." In fact, when I channeled dearly departed loved ones, it was clear that many spirits who were stuck, angry and afraid, were the ones who most of all needed a voice so that they could be healed.

Which brings me back to last Saturday.

After his usual teaching, Dr. Peebles began a demonstration of past lives, using his own past lives as an example of how a spirit evolves. 

This is where it got confusing for some people. 

At this point, I began to channel Dr. Peebles' past lives.

The first lifetime that I channeled, was his life as King Herod. King Herod came in, literally, and spoke through me to the audience for a moment. Dr. Peebles then came back and explained that he had been King Herod, and that he (King Herod) was arrogant and mean, trying to control life from the outside in. He discovered that was not the way to live life. It was time to try something else. Time to reincarnate again.

The next lifetime that I channeled, was Dr. Peebles life as a spirit who was benevolent and kind enough, but claimed to be "master of the universe," still showing his arrogance and need for control. That approach didn't work for him either.

Then I channeled Dr. Peebles as he was when he was walking the earth as a human being, doctor, writer, and minister; not as the angel he is now in spirit. When Dr. Peebles was on earth, he was a loving and generous soul, but still a bit of a "stuffed shirt," argumentative, opinionated and arrogant. However, now this man, who at one time had been King Herod, eager to kill the "Anointed One" i.e. the Christ child, had become a preacher, a Spiritualist minister speaking the glory and teachings of Jesus Christ to the masses. Dr. Peebles also authored a book titled, "Jesus: Man, Medium, and Martyr," and called Jesus the greatest medium to ever walk the earth.

It was not until his transition out of body that Dr. Peebles became enlightened. And then (he explained through me), he briefly incarnated as a woman, simply to dip himself into the Divine Feminine energy that he never really understood in any lifetime. And when he did that, his growth on earth was complete. He'd learned all about the true love of God, and returned to Source.

And, to this day, now as an angel, Dr. Peebles continues to reference the life of Christ, and calls Jesus "friend."

And now he works through channels all over the planet, spreading light, love, inspiration and truth.

Last Saturday, through me, Dr. Peebles was demonstrating that we ALL have many lifetimes and many periods of growth. We are always evolving and ever growing beings. We even continue to grow in the afterlife. The afterlife is not static or stagnant. And, because we are always evolving and always learning, there is always hope for everyone to finally make their way back to Source; i.e. the Love of God. We are never without hope, even if we were like a King Herod in the past.

When I was in my early twenties, I became a born-again Christian, and attempted to walk the tightrope of purity that I felt God wanted me to walk. And, no matter how hard I tried, I felt I always slipped up, and I was sure that I was damned to hell someday. I was terrified, and I prayed constantly to God for forgiveness and to help my wretched soul. And, one Sunday, after being instructed to speak in tongues in church (and doing so successfully), I was at my wits end. You see, I'd spoken in tongues for about 20 minutes in church, and when I came out of that trance, everyone looked at me in horror and backed away. I felt I couldn't win for losing, no matter what I did.

I prayed to God, and told Him that I didn't understand what happened, and that I knew I was going to hell, and so be it. And then I heard His voice speak: "Summer, even if you go to hell, I will be there with you. I am omnipresent. I am everywhere. There will always be a chance for redemption." And then I knew the truth: GOD IS LOVE. God would not send me to hell. I was sending me to hell. And, God still loved me regardless, no matter what I did, or how I lived my life. I still had the choice and the chance to change, to grow, to evolve into a more loving being. (As Dr. Peebles says, time and again, "Through your choices and perceptions, you do, indeed, create your own reality.")

So, on Saturday, the lines of separation were blurred, and the oneness of our existence was also being demonstrated. The channelings of Dr. Peebles' past lives happened so rapidly that even the voice that came through me ranged from the familiar sound of Dr. Peebles and at times sounded like my own voice.

I also heard from some people who told me that there were many channels at the session, and many of the questions were about channeling, so I suspect that he was also demonstrating the wide range of possibilities with channeling. At one point I spoke in tongues (which I have been told is Ancient Aramaic and Ancient Hebrew being spoken through me). At another point Dr. Peebles toned. And in the next moment the entire audience was chanting "ohm" together.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Peebles told us that there were many spirits in the room with us, and they were preparing to reincarnate. Then at the end of the session someone's name was pulled from the basket and there was a request for a birthday greeting from Dr. Peebles, and "Happy Birthday" was sung by him…not only for the person asked about, but as he told us afterwards, for the souls who reincarnated at that time.

And, before I came out of trance, Dr. Peebles told the audience, "Would you like to see reincarnation in action? Just watch, as the channel returns to her body." I was told the look on my face was priceless: like an infant coming out of the womb. All I remember is that I heard the audience laughing as I returned.

I suspected that many people were probably confused by the happenings of the day, but I also know from experience that it is what it needs to be for everyone. And, sometimes, these events even generate an energy that is necessary for planet earth, for reasons we may not even be able to comprehend.

Yes, Dr. Peebles certainly has a way of pushing people's buttons. I was amazed at his willingness to be so vulnerable as to share of his past.

Saturday was a rare event, and likely not something that we'll see again in a long time. I love Dr. Peebles for his earthiness, for his teaching us that there is no hierarchy, and that there are no mistakes, only growth. I love the way that he shows his love and appreciation for all people in all realms of understanding and growth. His forgiveness and acceptance of humanity far exceeds anything that I can fathom. His demonstrations are sometimes shocking and mind-bending, but that's because he is speaking to us with the language of the heart, not the language of the mind. We can't wrap our head around some of his teachings, and the only way to understand is to drop into our heart space.

Sure, I felt pretty weird after the session. It's not easy being Dr. Peebles' channel. But, it's also an honor.

After the session I told my Dad that I felt a bit embarrassed, "Like I just danced naked on a table."

My Dad grinned from ear to ear and giggled, "Well, you pretty much did, Sum. You pretty much did."
