I was one of the people who had their Southwest airlines flight cancelled this past week after Christmas. Fortunately, I have psychic daughters who "felt" they should check my flight status the day before I was to leave. This allowed me time to book one of the last available flights on Allegiant Airlines from Provo, Utah to Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Provo airport is the teeniest airport I've ever seen. I arrived at 7am, and actually had to wait for the TSA security line to open. I had paid extra to reserve one of the three last seats on the flight so that I had the seat towards the front. I was anxious to get home to my two kitties. My seat was in the middle, and a couple around my age came and said that they were also in my row. I offered to give up my seat so that the couple could sit together, for which they were grateful.
Midway through the flight the woman turned to me and struck up conversation. The conversation was easy and comfortable and we were soon laughing together like old friends. Then she asked, "What do you do for living?" I said, "Well, you might find this scary or weird, but I am a Trance Medium." Her jaw dropped and she said, "Tell me more! I have so many questions. I don't find it scary at all, but I don't know much about it." So, of course, I shared what I could with her, as succinctly as possible. She was speechless, and as she gathered her thoughts she said quietly, "Well, you might think I'm crazy, but I was a flight attendant for many years, and my life was miraculously saved on several occasions. There were crashes that were averted in the last seconds. And, oftentimes I would feel a hand on my shoulder as I was serving drinks, but no one was there." She intimated that the other flight attendants often saw and felt these spirits as well. We talked about the possibility that there were probably many souls on the other side who felt it was their mission to be the guardian angels on airplanes.
When I assured her that she was not crazy, and that what she had experienced was real, she began to cry. "I don't know why I'm crying in front of you, a total stranger." I said, "It's beautiful! You are being so vulnerable. And you are crying because you are finally being acknowledged and told you aren't crazy," to which she vigorously nodded her head, and cried even harder. Then, after a sip of her Bloody Mary with a double shot of vodka in it, she said, "I was raised LDS (Church of Latter Day Saints)." For those of you who may not know, she was raised with the Mormon religion.
Well, in learning this, I couldn't help but share with her that one of the first spirits I channeled after Dr. Peebles was Brigham Young, the founder of Salt Lake City, Utah, and the second leader of the Mormon Church. He said that he and Dr. Peebles knew each other in their lifetimes on earth, and I doubted it until I saw in Dr. Peebles' biography that they actually grew up on the same street in Vermont!
"The Mormons believe in God, angels, Jesus Christ, and more...but they believe it in their own beautiful but limited way, and I know that there is so much more! The universe is vast, and beyond what we can ever comprehend!" she shared with me enthusiastically, "I wish I could show them how much more there is to explore!"
Her enthusiasm was so refreshing. She had no fear, but simply childlike wonder about all of the possibilities that are out there in the ethers.
It made me realize that I wish I could take the fear away from everyone. Fear has been used for centuries to control and manipulate the masses, whether it is via a government, religion, father, mother, friend, boss, criminal, etc. Transcending that fear through faith and trust in God and Spirit puts the power back with you. There is nothing to fear in developing a relationship with God and Spirit, because it can only be done with love.
Life is a journey that is all about love. When you surrender to that greater truth and engage with God and Spirit with vulnerability and trust, well...what a trip!
