The Proof is in You

This past week I received an email from a client who was experiencing a spiritual crisis. Her faith in God and Spirit was waning, and she wanted proof that Spirit exists. ​

She asked me to ask Dr. Peebles to tell her something specific about her life, that only she would know. I could feel her despair, as I have gone through periods of time where I have felt so alone, and wondered if my faith and trust in God and Spirit has just been one big cosmic joke that I've tricked myself into believing.

Of course, I know better than that. I've had far too many things happen in my life that can only be explained by the existence of someone or something much larger than me. Solid proof of God and Spirit is something that has to be experienced on the inside for one to truly "get" it. It has to be experiential. Many years ago, when I channeled dearly departed loved ones, they would reveal incredible specifics about their lives. Such as the time when I channeled a young woman's husband who said to her, "You are eating Goldfish crackers and drinking lemonade now. But, we used to eat Goldfish crackers and drink Tang!" She burst into tears and said, "I know! But Tang brings back too many memories of you. It's too painful." Unfortunately, even with this kind of tangible "evidence" of life after death, people tend to still be skeptical, or still do not heal their lives, or even embrace the truth that God and Spirit exist. One woman used to speak to her mother through me, time and time again, and became so dependent upon these conversations that when I quit channeling dearly departed loved ones, she got angry and said, "How can you quit? This is like having to experience the death of my mother all over again!" She never really "got it" on the inside.

I was thinking about this as I was having my coffee this morning. It's so sad to me to think that some people truly think that we are just organic beings with a finite existence. It's sad that some people go through their days feeling so helpless and hopeless, when there is so much help and hope if they would look beyond the physical realm. Of course, it's not easy to put trust and faith in something that is invisible.

Imagine if you lived down in the crust of the earth, unaware of the sun that was shining above you. Imagine that someone who also lived in the crust came to you and said, "I believe that there is something out there, and I'm going to find it!" And then they dig up through the crust, pushing their way past stones and roots, finally surfacing upon earth, then return to you to share their stories of trees, animals, a sky that is called "blue," and a sun that is called "warm." You might easily think that they've lost their mind! And, so you continue to go about your business, living in the crust of the earth where life eventually feels so limited, sometimes boring, and often lonely, that you finally decide to venture to surface of the earth yourself, to find the truth that can only be self-evident.

This is quite similar to what I just read in the transcript from Dr. Peebles' teaching World Peace is an Inside Job: You are a growing being, you are like a flower, pushing up through the soil of the darkness of your soul that you think is bad, but which is really just the fertile soil in which you have planted your being, and you grow. And you push yourself up through the soil and you might bump into a rock, and you might burst through the soil, and you see the sunshine, and then there is a cloud. There’s a cloudy day, a sunny day. There’s a bee buzzing around you, and you don’t know why. There are so many experiences that you can have just simply as the growing flowering being that you are.

I told the woman who wrote to me, that proof of God and Spirit is an inside job. It's a matter of being willing to do the work from the inside out, and develop a deep, personal relationship with them. It takes time and a willingness to engage with God and Spirit, and they can only be found through your heart.
