Many years ago, around 1996, I invited a client of mine into my house to sit down for a psychic reading. She didn't say more than a guarded "hello," and held fast to her seat as she awaited her reading.
It was just a leaf--a maple leaf--sitting on my dashboard, dried up and curled up into the shape of a bowl. My five year old daughter had found it on the playground at school, and proudly shared it with me. I praised her for finding such a treasure, and placed the leaf on the dashboard.
In 1981, I was 21 years old, and briefly married (for three months) to a man, “Derek,” who had been a drummer for Little Richard, Ann-Margret, Ike & Tina Turner, and many other popular bands.
In 1992 I received a precious gift from my friends in California. I was living in Arizona, and I missed having Morning Glory plants in my backyard. I had grown up with Morning Glories, bright purple and sometimes blue, winding their way up the sides of fences, their smiling flower faces turned towards the morning sun. I was fascinated by them from a tender young age, and I wanted to see them again.
