Love + Love = LOVE

My daughter, who was an exceptional math student throughout school, has been texting me photos math equations that her 6 year old daughter is expected to solve in school: “WTF, Mom? Does this make sense to you?”

Nope. As far as I’m concerned, the “new math” has become a minefield of symbols and formulas that make even simple addition and subtraction equations mindbogglingly difficult to solve. Solving a math problem with new math is like having to hop fences, tap dance across every neighbor’s backyard, and then swim across the English Channel before you are allowed access to your mailbox which actually only requires a simple traipse across the front lawn, which can easily be done in your bathrobe.

I somehow managed to get A’s in math when I was a kid, but not without crying my way through homework. It often took me four times longer to do my math homework than it did for my friends. I somehow managed to memorize formulas and equations, and I always secretly counted on my fingers under the desk during math tests. I got the A’s, but retained virtually nothing from my math education. Math will always remain a mystery to me.

But there is one equation that has always made sense to me. It was given to me by Sir Francis Bacon when I channeled him very briefly about 25 years ago.

“1+1+1+1 ad infinitum = 1,” he said. When I heard the recording of the session, I understood the equation immediately. This moment plus the next moment and the next all add up to this moment here and now. There is no separation of moments, except in our thoughts and human perception of time. In fact (as this equation demonstrates) all moments of time are interconnected, and infinitely related to each other, and in fact cannot exist without one another.

We are not a moment in time. All that is, ever was, and ever shall be is happening here and now, and we move forward together in life as a dance with everything, not separate from it. 1+1+1+1 ad infinitum = 1. We are ONE. It’s an equation that has withstood the test of time.

I personally love the oldest math. The universal equation that is everlasting: Love + Love ad infinitum = Love.
